Rangers moved fifteen points clear in the league with a four-nil humiliation of Celtic whose fans streamed out of the ground long before the final whistle. Jorg Albertz headed in to give Rangers an early lead while Andrei Kanchelskis raced away to make it two just before half-time. Celtic threatened occasionally in the second half through 'Player of the Year' Mark Viduka but two late goals from Albertz and Giovanni van Bronckhorst sealed a deserved win.
