Cerezo
Osaka is a J. League team. The team name Cerezo comes from the Spanish word
Ceresso or cherry blossom which is also the flower of Osaka city.
The team's home town is Osaka, Osaka and plays at Nagai Stadium. It
practices at Minamitsumori Sakura Sports Park, Maishima Sports Island, and
Amagasaki city Yanmar Diesel Ground.
The team started as the company team of Yanmar. In 1994, it won the JFL
championship and was promoted to the J1 league on 1995. In 2001, it ended at
the last spot and fell to the J2 league. It managed to finish at 2nd for the
2002 season and returned to J1 in 2003.
