NK DINAMO ZAGREB (CROATIA)

NK Dinamo Zagreb is the largest and the most accomplished football club from Zagreb, Croatia. Its characteristic color is blue.

Dinamo was formed after WWII by players of an older Zagreb club, Gradanski ("Citizens'"), and it inherited its playfield from HAŠK (stands for "Croatian academic sports club"); the club uses April 26, 1911 as the date of its founding. In June 1991 the club was renamed to "HAŠK-Gradanski"; in February 1993 it was renamed to "Croatia", and back to Dinamo since February 2000.

At home, Dinamo won four Yugoslav championships, seven Yugoslav cup titles, seven Croatian championships and five Croatian cup titles. Abroad, it won one Fair Cities' Cup (now UEFA Cup) and was a runner-up in another, as well as one Balkan Cup.

Famous players have included:

Ico Hitrec
Davor Šuker
Velimir Zajec

Its stadium is called Maksimir after the neighbourhood in the northeast of the city, with the capacity to receive 40,000 spectators.

Its fans go by the name "Bad Blue Boys" (NB: not a translation).
